Within these pages you will find information about Veteran artist Robert Buono. He is a creative at heart, not pigeonholing his artistic expression to a singular medium.
Due to a catastraphic injury he incurred during the Vietnam war, his vision was affected. This led to him sculpting in a very kinesthetic way. He sculpts with movement and interaction in mind. You can see the same movement in his brush, pen, and pencil strokes in his 2D art.
To view Robert’s work, use the menu above to see the different galleries. They are divided up based on medium and subject. His sculptures range in size from small pieces destined for your coffee table top to large life size pieces that seem to dwarf the audience. You can feel the emotion in the human busts he has been commissioned over the years to create.
His portraits are divided up into three separate galleries. There is one for his special collection, “Windows of the Soul“, commissioned portraits that range in medium from oil paint to charcoal/pencil, and one just for his oil pastel nudes.
When Robert returned from Vietnam, he found solace in creating. He used his art as a way to process the war and share his experiences in a way that others could understand and interact with. There is a separate gallery for his work based on this time in his life. To see his Vietnam work, check out that gallery.
Over the years, Robert has been honored with articles written about him and/or his artwork in various publications. You can find his bibliography under the “About Robert” section.
